The Issues

The legislature has a responsibility to protect all of our residents. While crime rates are rapidly falling, our roads continue to be some of the most dangerous in the country. As your Senator, I will continue to introduce legislation that protects our communities. Not only should everyone be safe, they should feel safe.

Our legislative district is home to some of the best schools in the state, if not the country. As your Senator, I will expand measures to ensure we lead in equitable, accessible, and safe education.

With funding cuts, rising energy costs, and high interest rates, cost of living continues to increase. I will always work to ensure that Washington is an affordable place to live. We can not allow rising costs to price our residents out of living in our beautiful state.

Washington must lead the nation in having the best jobs with great benefits. In every sector, Washington has continued to see positive job creation. I will always serve to ensure that our residents can have good jobs and receive the benefits they deserve.

Since my time as County Executive, I have worked closely with Sound Transit to connect our district to the rest of the state. From the Light Rail to the Swift Lines, I will work to expand our district’s access to public transportation.
